Biolik
Biopharmaceutical Company is located in Kharkov, Ukraine.
Biolik was established in 1898 in cooperation with academic Ilya
Metchnikov, the Nobel Prize winner in the theory of phagocytosis, 1908.
Biolik currently employs a staff of 750 employees, including more than
150 of highly qualified engineers and technical personnel, 25
microbiologists, 6 virologists, 12 chemists, 5 veterinarian physicians,
10 technologists, 5 pharmacologists, 15 technical engineers, 3
physicians-epidemiologists and 7 PhDs. The company continues to uphold
its traditions of excellence in manufacturing of vaccines, biologic
medications, sera and antisera, and injectable final dosage forms. Biolik
possesses a unique know-how in development of liposomal drug preparations
including liposomal doxorubicin (Lipodox™), liposomal quercetin (
Lipoflavon™), and metallorganic compound in liposomes ( Lioliv™).
Liposomal taxanes and cisplatin are currently under development.
Biolik
is the only manufacturer of vaccines for prophylaxis of infectious
diseases in Ukraine.
The company has started manufacturing of DTP vaccine and DT, DTM, D-M and
T antitoxins since 1996. It has developed a full-cycle manufacturing of
all vaccine components: Purified concentrated Diphtheria antitoxin, Purified
concentrated Tetanus antitoxin, Pertussis suspension. Biolik is currently
developing International cooperation with the major world producers of
vaccine APIs in order to develop full range of injectable vaccine dosage
forms for Ukraine
market. We are actively working toward the development of production of
alpha and beta interferon, G-CSF and GM-CSF, erythropoietin, as well as
other biologic medications.
